The photos were shot in Bologna The Red, the most populous ex-communist city in Europe. These 13 snapshots recount the story of a populace forced to be at the avant-garde and, weary of being at the forefront, bravely struck out on a path towards emancipation, towards the most normal of normalities. The13 are the last stakeholders of a firm made of heroic human capital. To those foolish enough to cast a rueful eye on what once was avant-garde Bologna, we can only reiterate: “The revolution’s over. We’ve won”
